As functional part, there's high requirement for the expansion tanks. It have to adapt the high temperature from the engin's cooling system. Also it have to bear the different trials from outside weather.  So it have to be quality stable under the temperature from -40℃-120℃ and bearing the pressure 100kpa overpressure and  4kpa negtive pressure.

There's plastic  expansion tanks in VOLVO , MAN and  Hino trucks. Usually VOLVOmade from transparent PP .It will be very clear to see the antifreeze level .It is welded by two injection parts. And there will be clapboards in the surge tank to make the tank more strong.

The MAN expansion tank is made of black PP with 20% glassfiber. It is made by blow moulding. The even thickness is 3-4cm and the minimum wall thickness is 2.5mm.

Hino surge tank is also black color, but it is made by injection and then welded together. There's two  portholes to observe the liquide level. The red float bead in the holes will show the level clearly.
